Shiny Buddha Image HeadShiny Buddha Image HeadGold head of Buddha image. Shewdagon Pagoda, Yangon, Myanmar. Having just arrived from my long flight from New York, I woke up on my first morning  and took my jet-lagged body to the Shwedagon Pagoda to peacefully begin my trip. I had been here 7 years earlier, and find the temple to be a fascinating place.

It is the most revered Buddhist temple in the country, and attracts worshippers from all over. It is a beautiful place that always has plenty going on.

This morning started at a very pleasant 75℉ and we wandered around slowly, taking it all in. My camera was shooting away, and I was shocked that I actually filled a 2GB memory card--about 150 pix.
