Hillside Farm, SwitzerlandHillside Farm, SwitzerlandHaystacks drying in sunshine on small, hillside farm. Grindelwald, Switzerland. Another day of good hiking. I continued where I left off yesterday, and started at the gorge. After a lunch of fresh bread and camenbert, that is. I hiked up and up, and up, until I finally got to a hut. From there the trail contoured around below the Mitteligigrat and the Eiger. It went to the Alpiglen train station, and then down 600 meters. For a while I was hiking with a Canadian mother and daughter.

I had a good workout, and returned to the hostel for a shower. It was then that I started feeling lousy--chilled and slightly queasy. I lied down for a few minutes, and then did my stretches. I did manage to eat dinner, but went up right afterwards and got into bed. I was very cold. I think it might be the altitude.
