We landed in Johannesburg and picked up our rental car. We got our bearings and drove up to Pretoria, where we found the Pretoria Backpackers, a casual (non-affiliated) hostel.
We took a long nap in the afternoon thanks to our jet-lag, then went out for a walk to the Union Buildings. They are absolutely beautiful, and provide a great view of the city. Lovely terraced gardens.
