Quiet AfternoonQuiet AfternoonLate afternoon light. Myakka River State Park, Florida. In my fast-paced trip around Florida, I was trying to visit quite a few parks, some I was familiar with, and some new ones. This was a new one for me, and I really liked it. I was disappointed that there was no campsite available, but that’s what can happen if you wing it and don’t make reservations during the busy season. (I’m usually not big on reservations because I like to have freedom in my schedule to follow my muse.)

I had a pleasant walk through the forest along the edge of the river. It was late afternoon and the sun was low. The colors were already saturated, but I took it a couple of levels higher as I tried to give this image a more painterly effect. What do you think?
