The hardest part about this shot was getting up early to get in position. I was visiting my aunt and uncle in Ogunquit, so it was a short drive away. I love to photograph silhouettes of iconic objects with dramatic skies. Since this was from my film days, I had the camera on a tripod, exposed for the sky, and bracketed the exposure to make sure I would nail it. It’s much easier these days because I can confirm the exposure on my LCD.
