We had lunch at the hotel, and then a siesta. Before I knew it, or was ready for it, the time came to leave for Karnak. Yeah, right, more fun.

We pedaled along the Nile stopping for adjustments to Roy’s bike. The back wheel was precariously attached. Our efforts soon brought us to the Temple of Amun, the most awesome ruins we’ve seen yet. I found myself missing my cameras (that had been stolen in Thailand); it was impossible to do justice to this spectacle with what equipment I had left.

They are so enormous, so extensive, and very well preserved. This was all enhanced by the lighting at sunset, and the relief from the heat at this time of day. The perfect end to our archaeological sightseeing.
