Blue water, trees, and dock. Queen Charlotte Sound, New Zealand.Private Paradise There are a number of long distance hiking paths, or tracks, as the Kiwis call them all over the country. I had chosen to trek along the Queen Charlotte Track on the north part of South Island. 

Unfortunately my hike only lasted a day because I twisted both ankles just before I arrived at the Homestead, a hiker’s hostel. Anyway, it had been a very nice day with good weather, good company, and nice views.
