Zambezi River Sunset, Mana Pools National Park, ZimbabweSunset Reflection We had a great canoe trip down the Zambezi River in the late afternoon, passing hippos and crocs, and many birds. We had several very close observations of elephant which made for some good pix. We got picked up at the take-out point by another Land Cruiser with a trailer for the canoes, and were carted back to camp.

I took some pix around camp, taking advantage of the evening sky colors. While the others had a drink, I did my stretches and joined them in time for dinner.

We had roast beef and potatoes, carrots, salad, and pecan pie with custard, all seated around our table with tablecloth and kerosene lanterns. (Oh yes, when we returned from our paddle at sunset, each tent had a lit lantern waiting on each porch table.)

I had a hot shower in the portable camp shower, then sat at the campfire for a bit until bedtime. Very refreshing. In the past, “camping” and “clean” were two words which usually didn’t go together!
