View from unnamed island on the Connecticut River, Lyme, New Hampshire, USA.Morning Mist on the River I had the opportunity to get away for several days of canoeing on the Connecticut River with my brother. This was a very easy paddle, much of it described as “moving flat water” due to the Wilder Dam downriver. Nothing dramatic here, just pretty New England countryside with farms and some homes right on the river banks. The biggest challenge was the intense heat. Whenever it got to be too much, we jumped in the river to cool off.

The view was even more interesting when we woke up the next morning. A mist had covered the entire area and gave the scene a very cool and peaceful atmosphere.
