From the Journals... Kruger National Park, South Africa. January 27, 2002

Marula TreeMarula TreeMarula tree in late afternoon light. Kruger National Park, South Africa. Up at 5:10 and had camp broken by 6. No breakfast. The plan was a game drive, and then return for a restaurant breakfast. It’s easier, and the exchange rate ($1 US= R11.27) makes it very affordable.

My journal is minimal because we have so little free time. Roy and I were discussing our pace, and once again decided we are moving too quickly, with not enough down time. Oops--gotta go. It’s time for our evening game drive. I guess that’s why they call this work.//

Not a relaxed drive--we had the time pressure of needing to be back by 6:30 when the camp gates close.

Roy and Anderson prepared a feast in the camp kitchen. Piri piri chicken with rice. Anderson made green beans with garlic and dried shrimp.
