Almost HomeBoats arrive at the beach on the Thanlwin River at day's end. Hpa-An, Myanmar (Burma). I spent most of the afternoon hiding from the heat and talking to my fellow travelers on the balcony just outside my room. I walked down to the waterfront pagoda in hope of  sunset pix, but the stupa was blocked by palm trees. I took a few pix of boats, then changed my position to get the setting sun…

Day's EndSunset on the Thanlwin River. Hpa-An, Myanmar (Burma). Back at the hotel balcony, everybody was hanging out and swapping stories. It is an interesting international group here, ranging in age from mid-20’s to mid-60’s. Everybody here seems to be a veteran traveler. And here we are, just thrown together by chance. Part of the fun of travel for me is meeting cool, like-minded people.
