Year of the HorseYear of the HorseIlluminated horse decoration for Chinese New Year, Singapore. Party Time!Party Time!Illuminated decorations for Chinese New Year, New Bridge Road. Singapore. I had a good, short (3 hours seems short after the 26 hours it took to get to this part of the world) flight from Yangon to Singapore. It took a while to get myself organized and my questions answered at Changi Airport--the most awesome airport I have ever seen!

I took the subway to Chinatown, found my hostel, and went out to have a look around. I had dinner at the recently-opened Smith Street food stalls. There was lots to choose from--all kinds of cuisines represented here.

As I was exploring the neighborhood I came across these decorations from the recently-celebrated Chinese New Year. This is the Year of the Horse. I thought they were very exciting, as are many of the things I saw in this vibrant city.
