Red CanoeRed CanoeRed canoe beached at river's edge, trees and hills in background, Horton River. Northwest Territories, Canada.

This image was taken during a break one day on our 3-week expedition paddling 400 miles down the Horton River to the Arctic Ocean. This part of the Northwest Territories is beautiful, something very unfamiliar to me. It is so expansive—our 3 canoes were dwarfed by the landscape. We were blessed with excellent weather for most of the trip.
