From the Journals…Tal, Nepal. December 13, 1988

Mountain ValleyMountain ValleyFacing north to valley and village in background, mountains in distance. Tal, Nepal. I left at 10:10 after saying goodbye to Roy, my hiking partner who was turning back because of serious blister problems. I had a really good day, going at my own pace. When I arrived at Chamje, I had a second breakfast. My appetite has definitely increased. I hiked to Tal in 2 hours, again right at the book’s pace. I heard that a party of 5 or 6 had just left as I arrived. I was encouraged, thinking it was probably the Danes and the Australians. I will feel better if I am closer to them.

At 2:13 I headed out of Tal. The basin is fascinating, and the sun came out a little to make it more interesting. It’s the widest and most mellow bit of the Marsyangdi Khola. It  was a good 2-hour walk  to Dharapanai, where i discovered my prospective hiking partners at a hotel.
