Gate and CourtyardGate and CourtyardCourtyard, Museo de Bellas Artes, Seville, Spain. As much as I liked the patios in Andalucía, I felt that even they were surpassed by the beauty of the courtyards. Perhaps it is the larger scale, or maybe because they were in palaces, but there is something special about the relaxing nature of the places and the sense of calm they bestow.

The image posted here is from the Palacio de Bellas Artes, or the Fine Art Museum, in Sevilla. This is the site of a former monastery that now houses a collection of religious art. It seems the Church was not lacking in funds when this was built.

I did some HDR, or high dynamic range, photography. I took several frames at different exposures and combined them in post production, allowing me to capture the entire range of brightness in the scene. (Our eyes can see it, but the camera sensor can’t capture the full range in 1 frame.)
