From the Journals… Sangker River, Cambodia. February 15, 2016

Taking a BreakTaking a BreakMan rests in bow of his boat on the Sangker River. Battambang, Cambodia. Eventually we were picked up by a couple of vans and driven for about 30 minutes to the docks. We boarded our boat, a long, thin, high-speed ferry, similar to what I had been on when I was here before. Those who wanted to were able to sit on the roof, and that's what I chose to do. I like the sun, wind and the view for photos.

We followed the river out to the Tonlé Sap. Even though it is just the narrower northern section, we could still not see all the way across. Suddenly our boat felt small. There were a bunch of floating houses and businesses, but we soon had passed them and were by ourselves.

We eventually entered the mouth of the Sangker River, which we would be following for the rest of the day. We passed a settlement of floating houses, and I took some pix even though the light was fairly intense by then. We got seriously bogged down by the fields of floating green plants, which is cultivated but got out of control in some places.
