From the Journals… Yet More from Trinidad, Cuba. February 4, 2017

Painted PalmPainted PalmCasa Padrón, Plaza Mayor, Trinidad. Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. Back to the casa for a siesta, I took a short nap, then went up to the hammock to read LP. That lasted for about 15 minutes, until the rain started. The roof up there is only for shade, which I suspected. However, I discovered that the terrace roof on my level was not watertight either. I did some more reading in bed.

During a break in the rain I walked down to a cafe I had seen this morning. It started raining lightly, but I got here before I got too wet. The only problem is that there is a power outage in town, so they can't make coffee for me! I started talking to a retired Dutch couple who asked if they could share my table, one of 3 in the cafe.
