Peaceful MorningTemple Top and Palms, Shwe Taung Za Paya, Dawei. Tanintharyi Region, Myanmar (Burma). Up at 6 and out at 6:15. I walked to the Shwe Taung Za Pagoda. Even though it felt like 75 degrees, the humidity was enough to get me sweating after my 20-minute walk. I sat for a while to cool down. There weren’t very many people there, but I got some okay sunrise shots, I think. 

I walked back, to the room, happy to be hit with AC as I entered. After a few minutes I went up for breakfast on the fourth floor terrace. The view was okay, but I chose a seat out of the sun. Myo soon joined me. She was trying to convince me to join them on a pagoda run in a public van, but I declined. It sounds like a longer trip just to see one more pagoda. Apparently this is one of nine special pagodas in the Dawei area that if you visit all nine you get special merit. We’ve already been to a couple, but they aren’t going to get to all nine.
