I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful sunsets we are experiencing here, and I needed something in the foreground. I made arrangements with Chris and Jo, the owners of the hotel, to let us use their dhow for photos. My buddy, Roy, was in the dhow and I was on shore.

 We worked out a series of hand signals so that Roy could tell the captain when to come about so that the boat would be in the best position for a photo. They were going back and forth, and we were getting some nice shots. What really helped was that totally by chance, a second dhow off in the distance sailed across my frame. I think it adds that little extra something.
