This will often happen to me: As I am driving along at sunset, the light will get really awesome, and I will get into high gear searching for a foreground object. If I don’t find that subject I get very antsy and just have to shoot something.
That was the case here. The sky was awesome, but I wasn’t able to find a suitable subject for the foreground before the light disappeared. So, I pulled the over to the side of the road, climbed up on the roof of the minivan with my tripod, braced myself from the wind, and shot away. I got some strange looks from other folks as they drove by, but I got my shot!
