I went to the tea shop across from my hotel to have a coffee and figure out plans. I was approached by Soe Moe Aung, who wanted to practice English and offer me tourist advice.

He is very informative, and saved me much time walking around. He told me there is no boat running to Yangon for a couple of months. He also let me know about a boat trip he offers into the countryside.

He took me by motorbike to the Shwe Sar Parasol workshop. I got some okay pix there. It was a pleasant morning--I do enjoy getting to meet the locals.
