After a small breakfast in the hotel, I headed out around 8:15 to do the walking tour suggested in my Lonely Planet gudebook. I was hoping to get some good light and beat the heat.

 Here is the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, the former home of a wealthy merchant, and now a boutique hotel.

 This is an HDR, or High Dynamic Range, image. I shot multiple frames at different exposures to tame the brightest brights and the darkest darks to get details that would otherwise be missed.
