Our friend Barend joined us, following us out of Cape Town on his motorcycle, first to Table View, then down beyond Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Fishoek, etc. Absolutely stunning drive high above the water.

Made our way up to wine country, but discovered most of the wineries are closed on Sunday! Got sidetracked in Stellenbosch then moved on to Boschendal, a winery not open for tasting, but which did have a cafe.

Barend headed back, and Mark and I headed toward Franschoek, through a beautiful valley. Despite the heat, I kept hopping out of the car for pix. We finished the day with dinner in Stellenbosch.
