Lying awake during the night. I have a cold, and was blowing my nose all night. Then the rooster started.

Finally up at 7, and went to the Luang Prabang Bakery for breakfast. Chocolate croissant!

Climbed up Phu Si for a view of the city, huffing and puffing on a full stomach. Broke a sweat. Walked part of the tour as described in my Lonely Planet guide book, including the market.

I didn’t have much energy, but managed to walk up to Wat Xien Thong, then all the way back to the market area for a special rice batter fry, but it was closed.
