Woke up to clear skies and alpenglow on the peaks surrounding the campsite—a crowded campsite because of the weekend. I got up at 6 and shot for about an hour. I didn’t move much, but everywhere I looked had a great view. Shot 2 rolls.

I had some breakfast, then left for a hike on my own up to the Cascades. For a short distance (approx. 2 miles max) and little effort, the rewards were great—beautiful views in every direction.

It was hot, so I splashed some water on my head, and sat in the shade by the river for a while.
