Mountain Farm - Small farm in mountains. Above Chame, Nepal.
It was a leisurely morning, with many rest stops and photo stops. Excellent views of Annapurna II and Manaslu to the rear. We took a tea break at 10, and at 11 or so we stopped for pix and lunch at Lattermarang. I pigged out on tomato soup, veg and cheese chowmein, and Tibetan bread. Maybe a bit too much— walking afterwards was a chore. The terrain changed—less open farmland and more heavily forested. We walked through a nice pine forest along the Marsyangdi Khola and saw a couple of yaks.
I walked into Chame at 3:30 or so with Maggie and Steve and found the others at the Shangri La Hotel. There’s even hydroelectric power here, so I have a light in my single room.
We’re at 8,900’ elevation, and it is noticeably cooler here. I got a bit chilled-off this afternoon, and sat around the fire for a while with hot chocolate and chicken soup. I asked for boiled water for my bottle, and now have that shoved under my jacket. I’ve got my Gore-Tex pants on. It’s 6:30, and I hear dinner cooking. Hopefully I’ll get plenty of rest tonight.
