New Day, New Year, New York - Lower New York City Skyline just before sunrise. New York, USA.
I got up early so you didn’t have to! This is a photo of lower Manhattan taken from Jersey City, New Jersey.
This was 30 minutes before sunrise, and was more interesting than sunrise. It’s always a gamble with this weather situation. Sometimes the clouds are lit up beautifully by the sun at the horizon, sometimes clouds at the horizon block the sun from getting through, as was the case today.
