We pulled in around 4:15, about an hour earlier than expected. We walked the skinny gangplank and up the sandy bank and found a taxi. We drove to the New Park Hotel, where I had made a reservation yesterday. It’s a pleasant but basic place, and it fits our budget.

We dropped our stuff off and quickly regrouped for a sunset photo expedition. After a bit of searching I found an acceptable stupa that would provide a mostly unobstructed silhouette view. As usual, the best light happened about 20 minutes after sunset, and I was rewarded with some good shots.
