Night time motorcycle ride

Motorcycle taxis are fairly common in Asia. It is an easy way to get around in large cities with lots of traffic. It is not for the faint of heart!

Bicycle Rickshaw Ride

Bicycle rickshaws are a handy way to go short distances. It is kind of scary because you are right in the middle of traffic, and are extremely vulnerable. It usually works, though. Here, my wife is in the rickshaw just ahead of me.

Crowded Pickup Truck

We had requested a taxi from our hotel in the center of Mandalay to get us to the bus station on the outskirts of town that services southern destinations. When we got on (as the 7th and 8th passengers), one of the British tourists onboard said "Don't worry, there's always room for one more." Well, they kept adding and eventually got to 14 of us plus luggage crammed in to the back of a Toyota pickup. It was a long 20-minute ride.
